The Rivermen Send A Message In Lopsided Game One Victory
Written by Gary Groob - All Lacrosse All The Time
The Owen Sound North Stars traveled to meet the Six Nations Rivermen at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Ontario Series Lacrosse playoff action.
Although the North Stars dropped all three meetings during the year, they played the Rivermen tough in each game. This has the potential to be an explosively offensive series.
The goaltending match-up had Craig Wende in net for the North Stars facing Dusty Hill in net for the Rivermen.
Six Nations came out of the gate to send a statement. Three goals in under five minutes had Owen Sound on their heels. The Rivermen defense was just as tough, not allowing anything in the period.
The North Stars finally got on the board in the second, but again, the Rivermen controlled play most of the period. Three late goals in the period had Six Nations up 8-2 at the intermission.
The third period had Six Nations put it in another gear. Seven goals from six scorers and this game was over. Dusty Hill was steady in net only giving up three goals in the game. Six Nations wins easily 15-3.
