Landen Sinfield’s lacrosse journey has already included a national championship, professional experience and an important role with the Brooklin Merchants. The left-handed forward has continued to build his résumé through junior, university and senior lacrosse, earning opportunities at the sport’s highest indoor level along the way.

For OSL fans, Sinfield brings another example of the talent competing in the league. His story connects the development opportunities of Junior B lacrosse with the demands of senior competition and the National Lacrosse League.

Early Years

A native of Long Sault, Ontario, Sinfield developed his offensive game with the Akwesasne Thunder.

His final Junior B regular season in 2024 provided a strong indication of his scoring ability. In 20 games, he collected 51 goals and 34 assists for 85 points, finishing tenth in league scoring. He was one of only three players in the league to reach the 50-goal mark that summer.

Those results earned him attention beyond the junior circuit. The Toronto Rock selected Sinfield in the fourth round, 47th overall, in the 2024 NLL Entry Draft, opening the door to professional lacrosse.

Climbing The Ladder

Sinfield’s development also included university field lacrosse with the Ottawa Gee-Gees. In 2024, he was selected for the Eastern Conference roster in CUFLA’s inaugural Rookie All-Star Game at the Baggataway Cup.

The showcase brought together first-year university players selected by league executives in collaboration with coaching staffs, giving Sinfield another opportunity to compete alongside emerging talent.

He has also played with the Whitby Steelhawks in the Arena Lacrosse League. In February 2026, his first appearance of that season produced four goals and four assists in a 20–8 victory—an immediate contribution to Whitby’s offence.

Making His Mark In The OSL

With the Brooklin Merchants, Sinfield became part of an offensive group that reached the 2026 OSL final against the Six Nations Rivermen.

His contributions continued into the championship series. In Game 4, Sinfield scored from outside to give Brooklin a first-period lead during a tightly contested game. The Merchants eventually won 9–8 in overtime, forcing a deciding fifth game.

Sinfield scored again in Game 5, helping Brooklin establish a 2–1 lead after the opening period. Six Nations ultimately prevailed 7–4 to win the series, but Sinfield had contributed goals in both elimination games as the Merchants pushed the final to its limit.

A National Championship And The NLL

Before joining Brooklin’s championship pursuit, Sinfield experienced national success with the Snake Island Muskies.

At the 2025 Presidents Cup, he scored three times in the gold-medal game as Snake Island defeated the Brooklin Merchants 11–5. With goals in each period, Sinfield helped the Muskies secure the Canadian Senior B championship.

He subsequently appeared in eight games with the Philadelphia Wings during the 2025–26 NLL season, recording five goals and eight assists for 13 points.

A new opportunity arrived in the fall of 2026. Halifax selected Sinfield 42nd overall in the NLL Dispersal Draft, then announced a two-year contract on October 8. That move gives the young forward another opportunity to establish himself professionally.

Beyond The Floor

Sinfield’s athletic background also includes junior hockey with the Morrisburg Lions. When Toronto drafted him in 2024, the National Capital Junior Hockey League celebrated the accomplishment of one of its own players.

His development has included competition on the ice, on the field and on the box lacrosse floor.

2024: Selected 47th overall by the Toronto Rock
2024: CUFLA Rookie All-Star selection — Ottawa Gee-Gees
2025: Presidents Cup champion — Snake Island Muskies
2025: Hat trick in the Presidents Cup gold-medal game
2026: Signed a two-year contract with Halifax

Gary Groob’s Take

What stands out about Landen Sinfield’s career so far is how he has continued to contribute as the level of competition changes. A 51-goal junior season, a hat trick in a national championship final and goals in consecutive elimination games with Brooklin give fans plenty to appreciate.

His professional career is still developing, but he has already produced against NLL competition. For the OSL, players such as Sinfield help demonstrate the quality of lacrosse being played throughout the league.
