The Bengals Explode For Eight In The Second And Hold On For Victory

The Clearview Crushers (2-2) met the Hamilton Bengals (2-2) for the second time in two days.  A very even match-up between these two teams promised an exciting afternoon, and they didn't disappoint.

The goaltending match-up had Jackson Brown in net for the Crushers facing Mike Martin-Abel in net for Hamilton.

Brandon Hickey led the Crushers with four goals on the day.  Hamilton was led by eight different scorers in this game.  The big difference was an eight goal output for the Bengals in the second period, changing the entire dynamic of the game.  Hamilton was able to hold on in the third period for the 11-10 victory. 

To The Game:

Braydon Hickey quickly opened the scoring with a pair of goals for the Crushers.  The first was off a Graham Bergsma feed at 0:59 seconds, followed by a blast off a Kyle McKinnon pass at 3:19.

The Bengals came back with Cooper Day-Allison firing a Shaun Glover-Noah pass at 5:40, followed by Luke Robinson with a great individual effort at 6:09 to tie the game.

Hickey 's third of the game, followed by Graham Bergsma converting a Gareth Haigh pass gave Clearview a two goal lead once again at the intermission. 

After one period, Clearview 4 Hamilton 2.

Second Period:

Hamilton came out flying in the second period scoring twice inside the first two minutes.  Nathan Jones finished a Tye Argent pass at 1:01, followed by Neil McInroy converting a Colin Matthews pass 0:53 seconds later.  Luke Robinson's second of the game gave the Bengals their first lead of the day.

Braydon Hickey scored his fourth of the game to tie the game, followed by Spencer Andrews finishing a Gareth Haigh pass at 4:49 and the sea saw battle continued. 

The Bengals then broke the game open scoring five of the next six goals.

Tetsuya Yamada tied the game once again off a Colin Matthews pass at 5:50, followed by Cooper Day-Allison's second of the game at 6:59 to give Hamilton the lead.

Jake Dithurbide tied the game for Clearview, converting a Gareth Haigh pass at 8:40, but goals from Colin Matthews, Jack Fitzgerald, and Trevor McDonald gave the Bengals their biggest lead of the day.  

Angus Rawding scored off an Adam Hawrelak feed at 18:03 to bring the Crushers within two heading to the intermission. 

After two periods, Hamilton 10 Clearview 8.

Third Period:

Clearview got on the board quickly with Jake Dithurbide blasting an Aidan Saint pass at 0:20 seconds to bring the game within one, but Neil McInroy answered quickly finishing a Jack Fitzgerald feed at 1:20.

The back and forth play continued throughout the period, with both teams defenses stepping up.

Ryan Haigh brought Clearview within one goal with 1:32 remaining, but the Bengals were able to hold on for their second win of the season. 

Final score, Hamilton 11 Clearview 10.
