The Owen Sound North Stars traveled to the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in a do or die game against the Six Nations Rivermen.  With a win the Rivermen would eliminate the North Stars and head to the Ontario Series Lacrosse finals.

Six Nations dominated game one 15-3. However a resilient Owen Sound team took the Rivermen to the final second of game two.  Kaden Brennan scored with one second left to give Six Nations a  dramatic come from behind victory.  Owen Sound has proved with a total team effort, they can stand toe to toe with the Rivermen.

The goaltending match-up had Craig Wende in net for Owen Sound facing Dusty Hill in net for the Rivermen.

A typical Six Nations game had them jump out to a 6-2 lead after one period led by a Sam LeClair hat-trick.  While Dusty Hill was steadfast in the Rivermen's net.

Owen Sound, led by a pair of goals from Jordan McMillen and Jake McNabb gave the North Stars life heading to the third period, down 10-6 but gaining confidence.

Owen Sound put together one of their most complete periods of the season.  Scoring twice shorthanded, holding the Rivermen scoreless, the North Stars were throwing everything at Six Nations.   However, the Rivermen were able to weather the storm and hold on for a 10-8 victory.  The Win eliminated Owen Sound, and punched the Rivermen's ticket to the finals to face Brooklin.

To The Game:

Greg Elijah-Brown opened the scoring for the Rivermen converting a Sam LeClair pass at 4:11, but Brody Caskenette answered for the North Stars with a low to low blast off a Jake McNabb pass at 5:31 on the power-play.

Sam LeClair gave the Rivermen the lead once again with back to back goals.  The first was off a Ross Hill pass at 8:17, followed by a laser from the outside off a Jordan Goddard feed at 10:40.

Goddard then added one himself off a Greg Elijah-Brown pass at 13:56, followed by Sam LeClair wiring a Jordan Durston pass home at 16:25.

Wyatt Barfoot stopped the Rivermen's four goal run with a great individual effort unassisted at 17:00, but Jacob Crans responded with a shot from in close off a Zane Delpe pass at 19:03.

After one period, Six Nations 6 Owen Sound 2.

Second Period:

Zach Herrewyers increased the Rivermen lead off a Jordan Durston pass at 2:39, but goals from Jake McNabb and Jordan McMillen had the North Stars showing more life in this period.

Jordan Durston added a goal off a Zach Herrewyers pass at 11:36, followed by Ross Hill blasting a Jordan Goddard pass past Craig Wende to the stick side at 12:16.

But once again Jordan McMillen and Jake McNabb scored back to back to bring the North Stars within three.

Greg Elijah-Brown's second of the game had the Rivermen in the driver's seat heading to the break.

After two periods, Six Nations 10 Owen Sound 6.

Third Period:

Owen Sound left it all on the floor in this period.  With a nothing to lose attitude, the North Stars played more aggressively than most of the year.

The period remained scoreless until Jordan McMillen got his third of the game shorthanded off a Rob Kloepfer pass at 15:06, followed by Ethan Kerr depositing a Jordan Caskenette pass also shorthanded 0:41 seconds later.

Owen Sound kept up the pressure, but Dusty Hill was superb in the Six Nations goal, to preserve the win.

Final score, Six Nations 10 Owen Sound 8.

The Three Stars:

1. Sam LeClair
2. Jake McNabb
3. Greg Elijah-Brown
