McNabb Nets A First Period Sock-Trick En Route To Big Stars Victory


The Ennismore James Gang (0-1) visited the Owen Sound North Stars (1-1) at the Meaford St. Vincent Community Centre Saturday afternoon. 

The goaltending match-up had Riley Finn in net for Ennismore facing Gavin Clarke in net for Owen Sound. 

The North Stars scored early and often in the first period to take a stranglehold of this game.  Jake McNabb led the way with a first period sock-trick for the North Stars.  Special teams once again was a huge factor for Owen Sound as they scored four power-play goals, and two shorthanded goals in the victory.  Owen Sound wins their first of the season beating the Ennismore James Gang 13-4.

To The Game:

It only took Wyatt Barfoot 0:53 seconds to get the North Stars rolling, blasting a Dawson Mckenzie pass into the far corner for the lead.  Jake McNabb converted a Jordan Caskenette pass, followed by Caskenette scoring a power-play goal off a Dawson Mckenzie feed at 5:06.  

Adam Sargison added to the North Stars lead, followed by Jake McNabb taking over this game.  McNabb scored the next four goals to stake Owen Sound to an 8-0 lead.

A power-play goal from Riley Caldwell stopped the bleeding momentarily for the James Gang, but Jake McNabb's sixth of the period on the power-play with just 0:23 seconds left had Owen Sound up big at the intermission.

After one period, Owen Sound 9 Ennismore 1.

Second Period:

The North Stars started quickly in the second period scoring a shorthanded goal 0:39 seconds in with Rob Kloepfer finishing a Dawson Mckenzie pass.

The James Gang played a solid period and were rewarded in turn.  Adam Churchill converted a Cole George feed at 4:08, followed by Caleb French wiring a Bryce Dennis pass to the corner at 16:21.

Jake McNabb continued his hot night converting a Dustin Lantz pass on the power-play at 18:43.

After two periods, Owen Sound 11 Ennismore 3.

Third Period:

Owen Sound added to their lead with a shorthanded goal from Dawson Mckenzie finishing a Jordan Caskenette pass at 12:36.

Cam Mancini got one for Ennismore at 15:40, but Keagan McIlmoyle scored his first of the season off a Dawson Mckenzie pass at 16:30.

Final score, Owen Sound 13 Ennismore 4.
