MacLeod Pots Four As Knott Shuts Door On The Bengals

In the back end of the home and home, the Brooklin Merchants (9-1) faced the Hamilton Bengals (2-4) in Ontario Series Lacrosse action at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton, Ontario.

The goaltending match-up had Deacan Knott in net for the Merchants facing Lucas Nagy in net for the Bengals.

After a defensive struggle throughout the first period, Brooklin got rolling quickly in the second.  Taking advantage of Hamilton's undisciplined play, the Merchants potted three power-play goals of the five they scored in the period.  Hamilton wasn't able to solve Deacan Knott until the 19:59 mark of the period when Tye Argent finally got them on the board.  Will MacLeod (4g,0a) continued his hot night with a pair more in the third period, while the Merchants continued to make Hamilton pay with their strong power-play.

Deacan Knott was almost unbeatable in this game, giving up a mere two goals, while also adding an assist on a Grant Breyo goal to start the second period.  Brooklin put an exclamation point on the weekend with a 9-2 victory, taking both ends of the home and home series with the Bengals.
