Hanrahan's Hot Hand Sails The Cruise To Victory
The Ennismore James Gang (1-7) visited the Collingwood Cruise (1-7) at the Meaford Arena in Meaford, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Cole George in net for the James Gang facing Jackson Hainer in net for the Cruise.
The Collingwood Cruise outlasted the Ennismore James Gang 11-7 finally getting their first win of the season. Led by Cole Hanrahan (4g,2a) Zach Gignac (2g,2a), Tye Burke (2g,0a), and Braydon Hickey (1g,5a), the Cruise led for the majority of the day.
Up by one early in the second period, a five goal run changed the complexion of the game for the Cruise. Collingwood was able to take advantage of Ennismore's sloppy play scoring two power-play goals in the period.
Although the James Gang tried to fight back with a pair of goals in the third, Cole Hanrahan's fourth of the game late in the period sealed the deal. Collingwood wins 11-7
To The Game:
Tye Burke opened the scoring for Collingwood converting a Chase Forsythe pass at 0:50 seconds, but a low to low laser from Michael Blaymires evened the game at 3:16.
Nick Dilauro gave the James Gang their first lead of the day with a quick stick off an Aaron Bradshaw pass at 4:06, but Zach Gignac finished a Ben Baker to even the score once again.
Collingwood got on a mini-run when Chase Forsythe beat Cole George to the glove side off a Braydon Hickey pass at 13:43, followed by Hickey himself blasting a Travis Bland pass at 16:33.
Ennismore got back in the game when Nick Dilauro got his second of the game off a Bryce Dennis pass at 17:10, but Cole Hanrahan's power-play goal restored the two goal lead at 19:22.
After one period, Collingwood 5 Ennismore 3.
Second Period:
Bryce Dennis opened the second period scoring for Ennismore on the power-play with a high to low shot off a Nick Dilauro pass at 1:04,
The Cruise then exploded for five goals. Zach Gignac got his second of the afternoon in transition off a long lead pass from Jackson Hainer at 5:20, folllwed by Cole Hanrahan with his second of the game off a Braydon Hickey feed at 6:30.
Travis Bland added a power-play goal off a Hanrahan pass at 8:23, followed by Tye Burke with a man up marker also off a Hanrahan feed at 11:10. Hanrahan himself added another tally with a laser to the corner off a Riley Morgan pass at 12:55.
Michael Blaymires finally stopped the bleeding with a blast off a Tyler Grandel pass at 13:39.
After two periods, Collingwood 10 Ennismore 5.
Third Period:
Ennismore got a quick start in the third period. Bryce Dennis scored his third of the game off an Aaron Bradshaw pass at 4:09, followed by Nate Allan, on a broken play, with an unassisted marker at 5:34.
Cole Hanrahan answered back with his fourth of the day unassisted at 16:39 to stop the James Gang momentum.
Final score, Collingwood 11 Ennismore 7.
