Davin Bomberry & Thunder Hill Lead Rivermen To Yet Another Dominant Win


The Six Nations Rivermen (5-2) met the Owen Sound North Stars (4-1) Saturday evening at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario in Ontario Series Lacrosse action. 

The goaltending match-up had Dante Mancini in net for the North Stars facing Tye Bellanger in net for Six Nations. 

The Rivermen took control early, and continued that dominance throughout the game.  Led by Davin Bomberry (4g,0a), and Thunder Hill (3g,1a), the Six Nations Rivermen showed how dominant a team they could be.  

For Owen Sound, five separate scorers hit the scoresheet.  However, the North Stars were  never able to string any goals together to gain momentum.   

The Six Nations Rivermen won convincingly 11-5.

To The Game:

Thunder Hill opened the scoring with a great individual effort unassisted at 4:16, followed by Niko Spewock converting a pass by Blake McDonald in transition at 11:43.

Greg Elijah-Brown increased the Rivermen lead when he hit a sidearm snipe off a Thunder Hill pass at 12:20, but Braden Krueger finally got Owen Sound on the board with a great individual effort unassisted at 13:51.

After one period, Six Nations 3 Owen Sound 1.

Second Period 

The second period had the Rivermen pick up where they left off.  Davin Bomberry joined the scoring with an in close shot off a Niko Spewock pass at 7:54, followed by Mason Hill with a laser to the corner off a Kevin Owen Hill pass at 10:27.  Jordan Goddard made it 6-1 with a quick stick off a Wake:Riat Bowhunter pass at 12:37.

The North Stars got on the board once again with a blast from Teyatsu Yamada off an Andy Campbell feed at 16:04, but Davin Bomberry's second of the period stopped the Owen Sound momentum at 16:50.

Kyle Childerhose added one more for the North Stars on the power-play off a Winter Doxtator pass at 18:34.

After two periods, Six Nations 7 Owen Sound 3.

Third Period:

Thunder Hill opened the third period scoring with his second of the game converting a Brooker Muir feed at 0:23 seconds.  

Jordan Caskenette got one back for the North Stars with a screenshot off a Brody Caskenette pass on the power-play at 4:40, but Davin Bomberry's third of the night halted Owen Sound in their tracks at 7:44.

Bomberry scored his fourth of the game with a laser to the top shelf off a Greg Elijah-Brown pass at 8:35, but Owen Sound kept fighting with Andy Campbell finding the back of the net off a Winter Doxtator pass at 13:00.

Thunder Hill's third of the night at 17:39 put an exclamation point on this game. 

Final score, Six Nations 11 Owen Sound 5.
