The Brooklin Merchants (5-1) met the Owen Sound (2-2) in a return match from last week at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, Ontario.

Brooklin won their last bout convincingly 17-10.  Devin Pipher (3g,3a), Parker Pipher (3g,4a), Kellen Pulera (3g,3a) and Christian Watts (3g,4a) had big games in the victory for the Merchants.  Jake McNabb (3g,1a) and Carter Moran (2g,1) led the way for Owen Sound.

The goaltending match-up had Lucas Coote in net for Brooklin facing Kaleb Martin in net for Owen Sound.

The teams went back and forth the entire first period with both teams grabbing the lead in a fast paced entertaining period.  Jake McNabb led all scorers with a hat-trick in the period.

Although Owen Sound started quickly in the second period with two quick goals, a five goal run by the Merchants changed the complexion of the game.  Owen Sound got one more before the intermission but were still trailing by two heading to the third.

The North Stars pushed hard to start the third period, scoring a pair of power-play goals to tie the game.  Zac Carrigan responded with a power-play goal of his own for Brooklin, which turned out to be the game winner.  An exciting period yielded no more goals, with the Merchants holding on for a 12-11 victory.

To The Game:

The Merchants opened the scoring with Zac Carrigan converting an Eddie Renaud pass at 2:18, but Jake McNabb answered blasting a Gordie Power feed just 0:46 seconds later.
