Bomberry, Hill, And Elijah-Brown Lead Potent Rivermen Attack Over The James Gang


The Ennismore James Gang (1-5)visited the Six Nations Rivermen (5-2) in Ontario Series Lacrosse action Saturday night. 

The goaltending match-up had Cole George in net for the James Gang facing Elan Henhawk in net for the Rivermen. 

The Rivermen took charge early and didn't let up.  Led by Thunder Hill (4g,3a), Davin Bomberry (4g,0a), and Greg Elijah-Brown (3g,3a), Six Nations controlled the game from wire to wire, winning 19-4.

Nick Dilauro (2g,0a), Bryce Dennis (1g,0a), and Jensen Walker (1g,0a) were the only ones to beat Henhawk on this day.

The game got chippier throughout the evening, with a total of 59 penalty minutes between the two teams (34 in the last 0:17 seconds of the game).

To The Game:

Jordan Goddard got things rolling right away converting a Ty Logan pass at 1:56, followed by Anahalihs Doxtator with a blast to the corner off a Thunder Hill pass at 6:55.

Nick Dilauro brought Ennismore within one off a J.J. Bryers pass at 8:37, but Greg Elijah-Brown restored the two goal lead with a screenshot off a Danton Miller pass at 10:15.

Damon Doxtator continued the barrage with a low to low shot off an Anahalihs Doxtator pass at 11:05, followed by Davin Bomberry with a blast off a Ty Logan feed at 13:26.

Elijah-Brown scored his second of the period from in close off a Thunder Hill pass at 14:45, followed by two more from Davin Bomberry to end the period. 

After one period, Six Nations 8 Ennismore 1.

Second Period:

Jenson Walker got Ennismore on the board first when he hit the corner off a Reagan Martinell pass at 3:05, but Jordan Goddard got it back with a low to low laser off an Anahalihs Doxtator pass at 5:06.

Nick Dilauro got his second of the game for the James Gang with a blast off an Evan Taylor pass at 6:09, but again Ty Logan answered for the Rivermen off a Kevin Owen Hill pass at 6:43.  Thunder Hill added one before the break with a sidearm snipe off a Ty Logan pass at 15:28.

After two periods, Six Nations 11 Ennismore 3.

Third Period:

Greg Elijah-Brown got Six Nations rolling on the power-play with a high to high shot off a Danton Miller pass at 1:40, followed by Niko Spewock scoring off a Jordan Goddard pass at 3:28.

Kevin Owen Hill and Thunder Hill both added tallies shorthanded 1:01 apart , followed by Rodd Squire in transition unassisted at 9:26.

Thunder continued the onslaught with a blast to the far corner off a Danton Miller pass at 11:15, followed by Damon Doxtator converting a Greg Elijah-Brown pass at 12:15.

Bryce Dennis stopped the Rivermen run on the power-play with an outside shot off a Michael Blaymires pass at 15:08, but a power-play goal from Davin Bomberry stopped any momentum the James Gang might have had.

The end of the game saw a tilt by Evan Taylor of Ennismore facing Kessler Doolittle of the Rivermen, which yielded 34 minutes in penalties. 

Final score, Six Nations 19 Ennismore 4.
