Anderson And Hill Lead Rivermen To Victory
The Six Nations Rivermen (11-3) traveled to face the Owen Sound North Stars (7-7) in Ontario Series Lacrosse action Friday night at the Durham Arena.
The goaltending match-up had Elan Henhawk in net for the Rivermen facing Dante Mancini in net for Owen Sound.
David Anderson (3g,4a), Thunder Hill (2g,4a), and Greg Elijah-Brown (2g,1a) led the way as Six Nations jumped out early, never looking back.
Out to a 6-2 lead after one period, the Six Nations defense got even stingier as the game wore on. Only giving up another three goals the rest of the way, the Rivermen walked away with a 15-5 defeat of Owen Sound.
To The Game:
Daylin Burning opened the scoring quickly for the Rivermen converting a David Anderson pass just 0:39 seconds into the game, but Riley Thompson would answer back with a low blast off a Michael Blaymires pass at 5:19.
Kessler Doolittle gave Six Nations the lead once more in transition firing a loose ball for the score at 6:21, followed by David Anderson with a nice move from in front off a Thunder Hill pass at 8:21. Ross Hill increased the lead finishing a Greg Elijah-Brown pass at 10:30.
The North Stars got back on the board with Dawson McKenzie scoring on the power-play off a Jordan Caskenette pass at 13:43, but goals from Wake:Riat Bowhunter and a shorthanded marker from Thunder Hill near the end of the period staked the Rivermen to a four goal lead.

Second Period:
The Rivermen controlled this period keeping Owen Sound off the board.
Davin Bomberry opened the scoring for Six Nations with a quick goal off a Anahalihs Doxtator pass at 0:21 seconds.
Owen Sound changed goalies from Dante Mancini to Gavin Clarke.
Zach Herreweyers welcomed Clarke to the game converting a Jon Parry-Smith feed at 12:02, followed by Thunder Hill adding his second of the game with a shortside blast off a David Anderson pass at 14:33.
After two periods, Six Nations 9 Owen Sound 2.
Third Period:
Greg Elijah-Brown increased the Six Nations lead to eight with another quick start to the period. Elijah-Brown converted a Thunder Hill pass 0:27 seconds in on the power-play.
Colin Kitto got the North Stars rolling once again with a great individual effort in transition at 2:27, but a another power-play goal from Greg Elijah-Brown off a Zach Herreweyers feed stopped the Owen Sound momentum in it's tracks.
Danton Miller added another power-play marker for Six Nations before Michael Blaymires replied for the North Stars off a Jordan Caskenette pass at 8:41.
David Anderson continued his big day with a laser to the corner off a Ross Hill pass at 13:38, but Dawson McKenzie answered again for the North Stars finishing a Jack Fitzpatrick pass at 16:17.
David Anderson increased the lead again on the power-play unassisted at 17:01, followed by Memphis McNaughton converting a Thunder Hill pass at 18:07.
Final score, Six Nations 15 Owen Sound 5.
