Allison And Halliwell Lead Bengals To Victory

The Owen Sound North Stars visited the Hamilton Bengals at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena in Hamilton, Ontario Sunday afternoon.
When looking at the season stats these teams match up fairly evenly.
- Goals per game were 8.5 for Owen Sound, 9.2 for Hamilton.
- Goals against per game were 9.9 for the North Stars, 7.7 for the Bengals.
- Power-play goals per game were 2.4 for Owen Sound, 1.8 for Hamilton.
- Penalty minutes per game were 16.8 for the North Stars, 13.9 for the Bengals.
The goaltending match-up had Kaleb Martin in net for Owen Sound facing Dylan Sprentz in net for Hamilton.
Owen Sound started off well, but soon Hamilton's offense would take over. Tyler Allison (4g,2a) and Shane Halliwell (3g,3a) led the way with six points each on the way to the lopsided 12-4 victory.
To The Game:
Owen Sound got on the board first when Brody Caskenette converted a Riley Thompson pass at 3:30, but Tyson Allison answered for the Bengals firing a Nick D'amico pass at 7:51.
Owen Sound took the lead again on another Brody Caskenette goal, this time on the power-play off a Matt McLeod pass at 13:01, but a three goal run for the Bengals put them out front.
Lucas Hucal tied the game in transition unassisted at 16:43, followed by Tyson Allison with his second of the day off a Mitch Bolduc feed at 18:15. Cooper Day-Allison then converted a Tye Argent pass at 19:08 for a Bengals two goal lead.

Second Period:
Hamilton opened the scoring in the second period with a pair of goals from Shane Halliwell. The first off a Trevor McDonald pass at 6:33, followed by a blast off a Cooper Day-Allison pass at 9:26.
Matt McLeod got one back for the North Stars on the power-play at 18:06, but Luke Dawick got it back off a Shane Halliwell feed at 19:37.
After two periods, Hamilton 7 Owen Sound 3.
Third Period:
Tyson Allison increased the Bengals lead to start the third with a pair of goals. The first was a low to low shot off a Dawson Brown pass at 3:08, followed by another from a Mitch Bolduc pass at 8:21.
Chris Dong added to the Bengals lead converting a Doug Powless feed at 8:58, followed by a Shane Halliwell's third of the game off a Vern Hill pass at 9:54.
The North Stars changed goalies. Tanner Brown replaced Kaleb Martin at 13:22
Logan Swanton got one back for Owen Sound off a Jordan Caskenette feed at 14:58, but Dawson Brown answered with a blast off a Tyler Allison pass at 17:14.
Final score, Hamilton 12 Owen Sound 4.
