A Powerful Bengals Squad Shuts Down And Shuts Out Ennismore

 
The Ennismore James Gang (0-2) looked to get in the win column facing the Hamilton Bengals (1-0) at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton, Ontario.

The goaltending match-up had Cole George in net for the James Gang facing Sam Haines of the Bengals. 

The Bengals opened their season in grand fashion.  Led by ten points from Gareth Haigh (6g,4a), the Bengals scored early and often in this game.  Hamilton's special teams were solid in this game as well, going 4 for 8 on the power-play, also scoring a shorthanded goal.  Hamilton controlled the game from wire to wire, winning 18-0.

Of note, Sam Haines made 24 saves for the shutout.

To The Game:

Dawson Brown got the home team Bengals on the board quickly converting a Jaden Patterson pass at 3:26, followed by three goals in 0:32 seconds to blow the game open.

Gareth Haigh blasted a shot to the corner off a Jack Jasinski feed at 6:11, followed by Jaden Patterson finding twine off a Dawson Brown feed just 0:25 seconds later.  Ryan Haigh, off the faceoff, then continued the onslaught 0:07 seconds later unassisted for the early 4-0 lead.

Jaden Patterson scored his second of the period with an outside laser off a Gareth Haigh pass at 10:26, followed by Gareth Haigh with his second of the game on the power-play off a Patterson feed at 12:59.  Jack Jasinski added a power-play goal off a Chayton King pass at 18:18 to end the period.

After one period, Hamilton 7 Ennismore 0.

Second Period:

Jasinski and the Bengals picked up where they left off when he converted a Ryan Haigh pass at 2:21, followed by Gareth Haigh wiring a laser to the top corner off a Jasinski pass on the power-play at 4:43.

Haigh added his fourth of the game with an outside shot to the far corner off a Tye Argent pass at 9:44, followed by Chayton King scoring off a beautiful feed from Jaden Patterson at 10:51.  

Joey Cupido would add a transition goal off a Mitch Zulian pass on the power-play at 17:28, followed by a pair of goals 0:22 seconds apart.  Trevor McDonald and Mitch Zulian each converted quick breaks to end the period.

After two periods, Hamilton 14 Ennismore 0.

Third Period:

Gareth Haigh opened the third period scoring shorthanded converting a Thomas McDonald pass at 5:04, followed by another laser off a Tye Argent pass at 9:03 for his sixth of the game.

Jordan Gillis then added a pair of goals himself.  The first was off a Chayton King feed at 13:18, followed by an in close shot off an Andrew Vradenburg pass at 14:30.

Final score, Hamilton 18 Ennismore 0.

Shots on goal favored the Bengals 51-24.
