Hamilton's Offense Erupts In Convincing Win Over Owen Sound

The Owen Sound NorthStars (4-3) visited the Hamilton Bengals (2-4) in Ontario Series Lacrosse action Saturday night, at the Dave Andreychuk Arena in Hamilton, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Gavin Clarke in net for the NorthStars facing Aden Walsh in net for the Bengals.
The Hamilton Bengals turned in their most complete performance of the season Saturday night, overwhelming the Owen Sound NorthStars 14-5 at Dave Andreychuk Arena. Hamilton set the tone early, building a 4-0 first-period lead behind goals from Zach Terry, Colton Armitage, Kenny McIntyre, and Nile Cyr. The Bengals continued to pour on the pressure in the second period, getting contributions throughout the lineup while maintaining control of the pace and possession game. Armitage finished with a hat trick, while Terry and Brendan Campbell played key roles in the offensive attack as Hamilton carried a commanding 9-4 advantage into the final frame.
The third period belonged entirely to the Bengals, who slammed the door on any hopes of an Owen Sound comeback. Terry struck twice in the opening minute before Campbell added another, extending the lead even further. Despite a goal from Cam Sanderson and a spirited effort from the NorthStars, Hamilton's offense remained relentless, with Jaden Patterson and Trevor McDonald adding late markers to cap the victory. The win moves the Bengals to 2-4 on the season, while Owen Sound falls to 4-3 as Hamilton continues to build momentum heading into the heart of the Ontario Series Lacrosse schedule.

Hamilton got rolling early with Zach Terry converting a Jaden Patterson pass at 6:02, followed by Colton Armitage with a blast off a Ben Wittich feed at 10:45.
Kenny McIntyre added to the lead with a pair of goals. The first was a sidearm snipe off a Matt Cromie pass at 15:27, followed by Nile Cyr Late in the period for a four goal lead.
After one period, Hamilton 4 Owen Sound 0.
Second Period:
The Bengals continued where they left off in the second period with Colton Armitage firing a low to low laser off a Nile Cyr pass at 6:41, followed by Ben Wittich with a great individual effort unassisted at 9:23.
Riley Thompson finally got Owen Sound on the board with a low to low laser off a Jordan McMillen pass at 8:54, but goals from Brendan Campbell and Colton Armitage kept the Bengals firmly in control at 10:17.
Jake McNabb scored for the NorthStars with an outside blast off a Jordan McMillen pass at 11:21, but Devyn Mayea replied in transition off a Ben Wittich feed at 12:04 for the Bengals.
Owen Sound kept pressing with a pair of markers. Cam Sanderson scored on the power-play off a Dawson McKenzie pass from the top of the crease at 16:42, followed by Tyson Morrison finding the back of the net also off a McKenzie feed at 18:16.
After two periods, Hamilton 9 Owen Sound 4.
Third Period:
Hamilton dominated this period.
Zach Terry opened the third period scoring with back to back markers. The first was off a Brendan Campbell pass just 23 seconds into the frame, followed by a laser off a Jaden Patterson feed at 1:07. Brendan Campbell then added to the total with a great individual effort scoring unassisted at 3:31.
Cam Sanderson got one back for the NorthStars at 7:46, but Jaden Patterson and Trevor McDonald responded for Hamilton later in the period.
