Clearview Sweeps The Weekend Series With Ennismore

The Clearview Crushers (3-3) and the Ennismore James Gang (0-6) met in a rematch from the previous night at the Robert E. Young Recreational Complex Sunday afternoon. The Crushers won 8-5 on Saturday night.
While Clearview won the game, Ennismore was able to keep up for the majority of the game. The James Gang were still looking for their first win of the season, and hoped the matinee event would be one.
The goaltending match-up had Jackson Hainer in net for Clearview facing Drew Hutchison in net for the James Gang.
A game that went back and forth all afternoon had Clearview pull ahead to stay, midway through the second period. Zach Thompson (2g,2a) and Josh Gilray (3g,3a) led the Crushers attack.
Once again the Ennismore team showed they can hang with their opponents for the majority of the game. Holden Lowes (3g,1a) and Taylor Dooley (2g,2a) led Ennismore with thier biggest offensive output of the season.
The Crushers came away with the 12-9 victory sweeping the weekend series.
To The Game:
Curtis Conley opened the scoring for Clearview converting a Graham Bergsma pass at 3:33, followed by Gareth Haigh with a blast off a Josh Gilray feed on the power-play at 5:23.
The James Gang stormed back with Riley Caldwell finishing a Taylor Dooley pass at 12:35, followed by Adam Churchill tying the game off a Mason Tardiff pass at 13:40.
Nile Cyr gave Clearview the lead once more with a laser from the outside off a Riley Morgan pass at 14:06. Angus Rawding scored shorthanded to increase the Crushers lead to two, but Holden Lowes scored unassisted on the power-play just 0:10 seconds later to bring the game within one goal.
After one period, Clearview 4 Ennismore 3
Second Period:
Clearview got rolling quickly with Josh Gilray scoring on the power-play off a Jake Stroscher pass at 3:25, followed by Zach Thompson converting a Gareth Haigh feed at 6:17. Graham Bergsma got on the scoresheet potting one from in close off a Gareth Haigh pass just 0:33 seconds later to open a four goal lead.
Ennismore fought back again with Taylor Dooley converting a Curtis Martin pass at 9:16, followed by the James Gang special teams making a statement. Mason Tardiff scored on the power-play off a Holden Lowes pass at 9:50, followed by Adam Thistlethwaite converting a long lead pass from Drew Hutchison shorthanded to bring Ennismore within one again.
Clearview's special teams wouldn't be outdone potting two power-play goals before the end of the period. Josh Gilray scored his second of the game off a Graham Bergsma pass at 13:41, followed by Zach Thompson finishing an Adam Hawrelak feed at 18:36.
After two periods, Clearview 9 Ennismore 6.
Third Period:
Ennismore got back in the game with Taylor Dooley wiring an Adam Churchill pass at 2:08, followed by Holden Lowes blasting a Dooley feed at 11:30 on the power-play to again bring the game within one goal.
Josh Gilray scored his third of the game finishing a Curtis Romanchych pass at 12:26, but was answered by Holden Lowes Converting an Adam Churchill feed 0:23 seconds later.
The Crushers poured on the pressure in the latter stages of the period. Adam Hawrelak scored on the power-play off a Josh Gilray pass at 13:35, followed by Jake Dithurbide converting a Braydon Hickey pass at 17:10.
Final score, Clearview 12 Ennismore 9.
