Rivermen Stay Alive With Dominant Performance
The Hamilton Bengals (2-1) traveled to face the Six Nations Rivermen (1-2) to try and close out the beat of five series Friday night at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario.
The goaltending match-up had Aden Walsh for the Bengals facing Tye Belanger in net for Six Nations.
Six Nations made their point early in this game - "We're not done yet!". Four unanswered goals to start the game set the tone of the game. Led by Anahalihs Doxtator with a pair, the Rivermen took a 5-1 lead to the dressing room.
The second period was just as dominant as Six Nations outscored the Bengals 4-1 for a daunting 9-1 lead after two. Thunder Hill led the offense, keeping the Hamilton defense on their heels throughout the frame.
In the third period, the Bengals special teams finally got them into the flow. Scoring two power-play goals as well as a shorthanded marker, Hamilton made sure to remind the Rivermen there still was fight in this game.
Six Nations won 9-5 to get back in the best of five series, trailing 2-1.
To The Game:
Six Nations got rolling quickly when Greg Elijah-Brown scored off a Danton Miller feed just 0:45 seconds into the game, followed by a blast from Brooker Muir off a Kevin Owen-Hill pass at 4:45 to make it 2-0.
Anahalihs Doxtator scored back to back goals for the Rivermen next. The first was off an Elijah-Brown pass from in close at 5:15, followed by a shorthanded marker in transition finishing a Brooker Muir feed at 13:53.
Jaden Patterson got Hamilton on the board on the power-play at 15:15, but Thunder Hill answered just 0:47 seconds later with a laser to the shortside.

Second Period:
Thunder Hill opened the second period scoring with a shorthanded goal off a Tyson Bomberry pass at 2:02.
The Bengals got moving again on the power-play with Jaden Patterson's second of the game off a sweet feed from Gareth Haigh at 11:09, but David Anderson answered just 0:30 seconds later with a low bounced shot to the corner off a Thunder Hill pass shorthanded to stop the momentum.
Ty Logan added to the Rivermen's lead converting a Rodd Squire pass at 15:27, followed by Jordan Goddard finishing a Danton Miller pass on the power-play at 19:28.
After two periods, Six Nations 9 Hamilton 2.
Third Period:
Hamilton's special teams came to life with Zach Sunderland scoring a shorthanded tally off a Josh Gilray pass at 7:02, followed by Carson Moyer adding a power-play marker off a Jaden Patterson pass at 10:18. Shane Halliwell then added another power-play goal off a Patterson feed at 13:02.
Six Nations was able to weather the storm, locking down defensively the rest of the way for the victory.
