Rivermen extend winning streak to seven
The Six Nations Rivermen continue to prove they’re THE team to beat in the Ontario Series Lacrosse this season. The Rivermen improved their record to a perfect 7-0 on Saturday with an 11-5 road victory on Saturday over the expansion Clearview Crushers. The match was held at the Collingwood Eddie Bush Memorial Arena.
Six Nations led 2-0 after the first period. The Rivermen then took control of the contest by outscoring the Crushers 6-2 in the middle frame to take an 8-2 lead into the final 20 minutes of action. The squads then scored three goals apiece in the final period.

Six Nations’ Travis Longboat displayed his offensive capabilities throughout the night and ended up with an eight-point performance, including six goals. Meanwhile, Marshall Powless netted a pair of goals for the Rivermen and also earned three assists. Wes Whitlow, Tyler Conn and Oakley Thomas scored the other Six Nations goals.
The Rivermen are hoping to continue their winning ways on Sunday when they hit the midway mark of their regular season. Six Nations will hit the road again for a match against the Oakville Rock. The opening faceoff for this contest, which will be held at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
