President's Cup Results - Day Two
The President's Cup continued Monday at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby, Ontario with four round robin games.
Snake Island Muskies 21 Saskatchewan Roadrunners 5
Once again Saskatchewan played with an extremely short bench, having only thirteen players (including two goalies). To their credit, they played their hearts out, giving Snake Island a solid effort in the game. Stepan Friedl (2f,1a), Lundyn Cups (1g,2a), Maxwell Breung (1g,0a) and Cody Laforme (1g,0a) got the goals for the Roadrunners.
The Snake Island Muskies took advantage of the time to run different plays, with different players, also giving players an opportunity to rest more before their next game against Edmonton. Joey Spallina (3g,5a) led the way, with Ryan Lanchbury (4g,3a), Vaughn Harris (2g,2a), Skkyler Thomas (2g,2a), and Stone Jacobs (2g,2a) also having strong games.

Winnipeg Blizzard 6 Allegany Arrows 24
The Winnipeg Blizzard had a really good showing against a front runner in the tournament in the Allegany Arrows. Led by Alex De La Ronde (2g,0a), and Colin Poitras (1g,1a) the Wizards fought hard for sixty minutes.
The Allegany Arrows showed just how explosive they could be in this game. Led by Chris Cloutier (3g,7a), Chase Fraser (4g,5a), and Layne Smith (4g,3a), the Aarows controlled play for most of the game. Both Gowah Abrams and Craig Seneca (who shared net duties) had strong showings in net.

Players of the Game:
Winnipeg - Michael Newman
Allegany - Koleton Marquis
Edmonton Miners 6 Six Nations Rivermen 9
A quick tempo from both teams to start the game had the energy in the arena high. The Tandem of Milligan & Wengreniuk was working well for Edmonton, while David Anderson and Danton Miller was equally as potent for the Rivermen. After one it was tied 2-2.
The second was a tale of two games. Edmonton got rolling early with a pair of goals to take the lead. Six Nations then battled back with three unanswered goals themselves, to grab the lead at the break.
The third had a good rhythm to it to start, but it was the goalies time to shine. Both Cam MacLeod and Tye Belanger were superb in net.
Six Nations increased their lead with blasts from Jordan Goddard, and Danton Miller midway through the period. However, Edmonton fought back when Cam Wengreniuk scored off a Cam Milligan pass. Greg Elijah-Brown then hit with a late marker off a David Anderson pass. Edmonton scored again, but an empty net goal from David Anderson sealed the deal.
Six Nations wins 9-6.
Players of the Game:
Edmonton - Richard Lachlan
Six Nations - David Anderson
Ladner Pioneers 7 Brooklin Merchants 9
While the teams played a very entertaining back and forth first period, Keegan Bell stole the show with three goals for Ladner. While Brooklin kept up for most of the period, Bell scored with 0:45 seconds left to give the Pioneers the lead at the intermission.
The second period had the Merchants come to life with four goals to take the lead in the period. While Ladner kept pressing, Brooklin's defense stood tall. The period definitely got more aggressive as it went along.
The third period again was aggressive, but the defenses from either team stood tall. Jacob Hickey scored for Brooklin on a coast to coast run, but Spencer Bromley kept it close for Ladner. With mere seconds to go, Devon Pipher scored to seal the deal for the Merchants. Brooklin wins 9-7.
Players of the Game:
Ladner - Keegan Bell
