Hamilton Tops The James Gang In A Defensive Struggle

 

The Ennismore James Gang (0-7) were looking to get in the win column facing the Hamilton Bengals (3-4) at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena.

Both teams have had their struggles, but were showing signs that a win was on the horizon.  The James Gang were led by Holden Lowes (6g,3a), Adam Churchill (4g,5a), Aaron Bradshaw (2g,4a) Nick Andreoli (2g,3a) and Taylor Dooley (3g,2a).  Hamilton countered with Yvon Bolduc (4g,15a), Tye Argent (5g,13a), Colin Matthews (3g,14a) Jack Fitzgerald (11g,4a) and Shane Halliwell (6g,5a).

The goaltending match-up had Andrew Kidd in net for Ennismore facing Chase Cosgrove in net for Hamilton. 

Both teams defenses were strong all game, but the standout in this game was Ennismore goalie Andrew Kidd who was nothing short of spectacular making 71 saves in this game.  

The battle was end to end throughout most of the night with both teams getting ample chances, but a late flurry by Hamilton sealed the deal in this game.  Vern Hill had a pair of goals for the Bengals, with singles going to Cooper Day-Allison, Dawson Brown, Mitch Bolduc and Tye Argent.   Holden Lowes got both of the James Gang 's goals.  Hamilton gets the 6-2 victory. 

To The Game:

Hamilton got on the board first when Mitch Bolduc converted a Tye Argent pass from in close at 9:23, followed by Tye Argent finishing a quick break pass from Dawson Brown at 12:58.

The  James Gang finally got on the board with Holden Lowes scoring unassisted in close at 18:24.

After one period, Hamilton 2 Ennismore 1.

Second Period:

The Bengals got the only goal of the period when Cooper Day-Allison scored on a great individual effort off a Nick D'amico pass at 17:13.

After two periods, Hamilton 3 Ennismore 1.

Third Period:

Vern Hill scored a pair for the Bengals. First he converted a rebound off a Shane Halliwell shot at 14:17, followed by another blast from Hill off a Tye Argent feed at 16:54.

Ennismore got on the board with Holden Lowes converting an Adam Thistlethwaite pass at 17:51, but was answered by Dawson Brown finishing a Neil McInroy feed just 0:08 seconds later.

Final score, Hamilton 6 Ennismore 2.

Shots on goal were 77-33 in favor of Hamilton.
